Arftic Art for Animals, a fundraiser for the Friends of Noah animal rescue group, will host its second annual event at the Pontiac Convention Center, 2809 N. Pontiac Drive, in Janesville on January 28th.
Arftic Art is an exhibition of some of the latest products in pet care and will feature some of the top animal artists from around the Midwest. Visit with local artist, Alicia Reid of Raven's Wish in Janesville, for distinctive animal art or check out the Mushy Face Cookie Company for delectable dog treats for your best friend.
"Last year we were thrilled by the community's positive reaction to Arftic Art," said Noah's executive director, Lois Corwin. "This year, we're sure there's going to be something special here for anyone who loves a pet."
One highlight for the younger set will be free rides on sleds pulled by Newfoundland dogs as well as other children's activities. The Friends of Noah will also be offering several unique silent auction items, including an autographed football from the Green Bay Packers. There will also be foster animals up for adoption at the event.
Founded in 2010, the Friends of Noah is an all-breed animal rescue group. Noah's efforts are focused in three key areas—educating young people on the responsibilities of pet ownership, providing free food for pets through nine local food pantries, and in emergency vet situations, provide support for veterinary expenses. "Noah's ultimate goal," said Corwin, "is to keep pets and families together. No one should have to make a decision based on financial need on whether they can keep their pet." Noah is currently helping more than 500 southern Wisconsin families per month feed their pets.
This organization is made up of volunteers, so all profits from the Arftic Arts exhibition will be used to directly support the various Friends of Noah programs and the animals.
Doors will be open from 10am until 4pm, rain or shine. Admission is only $5. Donations are always gratefully accepted. Children 10 and under are admitted free-of-charge.
